Kowhai delivers a high-interest, balanced curriculum. We keep a strong focus on reading, writing and number skills, ensuring that each class has four groups or bands of learning in these areas to accommodate individual students' needs.

* exciting arts programmes (including specialist teachers in dance, music and visual art) that enable students to express themselves and explore ideas in creative ways;
* sensitive health learning, that involves students in informed decision-making about the health issues that they actually face in their day to day lives;
* skill-based phys ed programmes, that provide students with opportunities to pursue a wide range of sports and physical activities; and
* technology programmes in purpose-built workshops, led by specialist teachers, designed to develop our students' technological know-how in such areas as foods, materials, electronics, design, structures and mechanisms.
