My warm greetings to all parents and their young people considering enrolment at Kowhai!

We believe that we have a clear idea of what you expect of us:
▪ To understand where your child is at right now in his/her personal development and learning.
▪ To urge and encourage your child on from that point, growing his or her skills and understandings academically, socially, creatively, in service and in recreation.

At Kowhai we believe that all children have the capacity to learn. That’s why our school motto is, We Learn. No Exceptions.

▪ Scaffold your child to his/her next stage of learning.
▪ Promote a ‘can do’ attitude so your child can excel and achieve their goals.
▪ Develop resilience and adaptability in your child so he/she is willing to take risks in learning and can face the future confidently.
▪ Extend gifted students to greater challenges.
▪ Equip all our children to take up their responsibilities as just, caring and involved citizens.

Meet the Principals

Principal, Paul Douglas and Associate Principal, Louise Broad, are very happy to meet with you to pay attention to your expectations and your child’s particular needs. We will spend time with you answering your questions, showing you around the school, introducing you to teachers or observing programmes. Just call or email to make an appointment.

Zoning

You have automatic right of enrolment at Kowhai if you live in our zone. Currently, Kowhai is also accepting out of zone enrolments. Entry to our Maori unit is by application.
