Absences

If your child is unable to attend school please contact the office either by phone or via email absentees@kowhai.school.nz. Alternatively a note should be along with your child when they return to school.

Urgent Messages

Please note that not all staff have regular access to email so for important or urgent messages please phone the school office.

If you call before school hours to advise that your child will be away you may leave a message on voice mail.

You may email staff by using following format, their first name followed by their surname (with no space in between) @kowhai.school.nz

Example: pauldouglas@kowhai.school.nz

Spam Mail - Kowhai uses the 'free for schools' Watchdog spam filter for all our emails. Please note that emails to the school may be accidently labelled as spam and therefore be blocked. If you do not receive a prompt reply to an email please call the school (846 7534) and we can set our system to allow your emails through.

Payment Options

• CASH: Students - through the class money book first thing in the morning or directly to the school office.

• CHEQUE: Made out to Kowhai Intermediate School with your child's name, room number and what the payment is for written on the back.

• EFTPOS: Available at the school office.

• CREDIT CARD: Through the school office or over the phone.

Visitors to the school

We ask that all visitors to the school, including whanau and family members, report to the school office to sign in.
