On Thursday 11th August Kowhai Intermediate
School hosted the launch of the new rail safety resource 'Tracks are for
Trains'. Tracks are for Trains is an educational programme developed to
help prevent death and injury of children on or near trains or railway
tracks.
Included here are the main messages from the
programme along with photos from the launch event.

Trains can't
swerve or stop quickly.

You can't
always hear a train coming.

You're only
allowed to cross rail tracks at a legal crossing.

Stop, Look and
Listen.

The rail
corridor is out of bounds.

Keep at least
1.5 metres back from the edge of the platform.

Always take
care around trains.
