SCHOOL WILL BE OPEN ON THURSDAY

Updated Wednesday 11 April at 9:30pm

The school will open as per our usual hours today.

We have power to most areas of the school along with phone and internet access.

We have been in contact with Vector about the downed power lines on Kowhai Street and they have given an undertaking to make them safe, however they have not been able to give us a firm timeframe on this. We therefore ask that you tell your children to stay well away from Kowhai Street - the street that runs alongside the bottom field. We will ensure that this area is taped off, the students will be told that the school fields will be out of bounds and teachers will be on duty to ensure they stay well away. Entry and exit to the school for all persons must be via the Sandringham Road or Onslow Road entrances.

Situations like those we experienced today reinforce the importance of the school having accurate contact information for all of our families - please update the office if these have changed.

We will keep ourselves appraised of these situations and while we don’t foresee a need to revisit the decision  to open it would be a good idea to check the school website in the morning for any overnight changes. Please keep your phones handy until this weather system is totally clear of the country and we have all services and facilities back up and running as per normal.

Once again we thank you for your patience and understanding.

Kind regards

Louise Broad
