2026 ENROLMENTS

All special programme applications are now closed.

we will be accepting enrolment applications for ballot from Priorities 1, 2 & 3 ONLY

First priority will be given to any applicant who is applying in one of the language programmes run by the school (Whānau Pounamu, Gafoa le Ata and La Grande Envolee). Acceptance is language dependant

Second priority will be given to any applicant who is the sibling of a current student of the school.

Third priority will be given to any student who is the sibling of a former student of the school.

The BOT and Principal have acknowledged family pathways with this decision; no other priorities will be accepted in 2025.

- This enrolment form is used for all learning pathways at Kōwhai Intermediate

For whānau without internet access, please make an appointment through the office. You will need to come to school where our enrolment officer can help you. Please bring in all the supporting documentation and we will take copies of them for you. The process will take approximately 20-30 minutes.

Please have the following documentation ready before you start your child's online enrolment. We suggest you either scan the documents or take clear photos on your phone and attach them when asked as part of the online enrolment process:

Birth Certificate OR NZ Passport (for NZ born students)
Proof of residential address (tenancy agreement or similar) for in-zone students
Most recent school report
Immunisation record
Medical plan / short summary (for severe medical conditions) if applicable
Court documents detailing any care or custody agreements if applicable

If your child is NOT born in New Zealand the following documentation is required:

Passport of the country of citizenship
Student Visa, Permanent Residence Permit or Citizen Certificate
Date entered New Zealand (copy of passport page with entry stamp).
If your child is living with Caregivers other than the biological parents, the following documentation is required
Legal adoption papers/court order or a formal letter from parents explaining living arrangements
Full birth certificate
Immunisation record

Special Programmes

All special programmes have limited spaces and you should speak to the enrolments officer directly regarding placements into these programmes. .

Priority 1 Out of Zone Enrolments: Language units - language requirements. Interviews will be set to determine acceptance.

Please note the Bilingual Unit is not a special programme, and is only available to in-zone students
